Ontario Dentists
Just like doctors, Ontario dentists also specialize on different aspects. These specializations are Endodontistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Pathalogy, Orthodontistry, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontistry, and Prosthodontistry. Although different in names, they all treat whatever there is that is unusually found in the patient’s mouth.
Endodontists treat inner root canals and nerves on the inner portion of a tooth. They treat these diseases and take good care and notice to the patient’s affected teeth.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are usually in-charge of the patient’s jaw and mouth. They are also the ones that take care for patients who need complex tooth extraction.
Oral Pathalogists are similar with the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. However, they only do simple examinations, diagnosis, identification and treatment to simple diseases found in the mouth.
Orthodontists are the ones that specialize in correcting and designing the right formation of the patient’s set of teeth. They are also the ones that apply these supportive braces to re-align the teeth.
Pediatric Dentists in Ontario are dentists that handle first dental visitors – specifically infants and children that undergo some mouth problems. This doctor also knows how to handle patients that have other physical, psychological or emotional problems.
Periodontists are the ones that take good care of the gums and other special tissues that surround the teeth.
Prosthodontists are teeth designers for those that have lost important teeth. They are the ones in-charge to do implants or make bridgeworks or dentures.
In order for a dentist to deeply practice this profession, they should at least know how to do most of these specializations.
